ਇਤਾਲਵੀ ਲਗਜ਼ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਡ PRADA ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੋਲਹਾਪੁਰੀ ਚੱਪਲਾਂ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਚੱਪਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਕਰਨਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਯਾਂਕ ਖੜਗੇ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ, ਕੰਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਚੱਪਲਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਕਿਨਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਤਾਲਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਡ ‘ਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਾਧਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ PRADA ਅਸਲੀ ਕੋਲਹਾਪੁਰੀ ਚੱਪਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ 1.20 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜੋੜਾ ਵੇਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਖੜਗੇ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ‘ਐਕਸ’ ‘ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਚੱਪਲਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਨਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਅਥਾਨੀ, ਨਿਪਾਨੀ, ਚਿੱਕੋਡੀ, ਰਾਏਬਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਲਾਗਾਵੀ, ਬਾਗਲਕੋਟ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਵਾੜ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
