ਨਵੇਂ ਪੈਨ ਕਾਰਡ QR ਕੋਡ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਲੈਸ, ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ
ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 27 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2024 – ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਟੈਕਸਦਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ QR ਕੋਡ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੀਂ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਪੈਨ ਕਾਰਡ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 1,435 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਥਾਈ ਖਾਤਾ ਨੰਬਰ (ਪੈਨ) ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ’ਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੈਨ 2.0 ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਲਈ ‘ਇਕਸਾਰ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਪਛਾਣਕਰਤਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਪੈਨ ਇਕ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ 10 ਅੰਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੰਬਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਨਕਮ ਟੈਕਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਅੰਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ‘ਇਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਟ’ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨੰਬਰ ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੈਕਸਦਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਰਥਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਕਮੇਟੀ (ਸੀ.ਸੀ.ਈ.ਏ.) ਨੇ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਹੇਠ ਹੋਈ ਬੈਠਕ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਤੀ।
