Jammu : October 25, 2024 – The recent surge of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir has drawn attention to the proliferation of shadow militant groups associated with Pakistan-based terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

The ‘People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF)’, a proxy outfit of the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, claimed responsibility for the attack on an army patrol vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg region on Thursday that killed two army jawans and two local porters, said the sources. They added that the attack on the army vehicle occurred from two directions, with terrorists launching an ambush and opening indiscriminate fire at the vehicle. They also attempted to snatch rifles from the army truck, according to the sources.

The police said the army vehicle came under fire near the Nagin post area of Butapathri, Gulmarg near the Line of Control (LoC). It has been learned that the J&K police suspect it to be a case of infiltration near LoC.
