ਚੰਡੀਗੜ, 20 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2024 – ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ ਸੂਬੇ ’ਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਹੋਈਆ ਸੂਬਾਈ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਐੱਨਡੀਪੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਵੀ ਹਿੱਸੇਦਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਡੇਵਿਡ ਈਬੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ’ਚ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਚਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਚ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਥਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਜਨਰਲ ਤੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਦਾ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਦਕਿ ਰਵੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਰਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੰਗਲਾਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ, ਰਵੀ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਊਸਿੰਗ ਤੇ ਮਿਊਨਸੀਪਲ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਤੇ ਜਗਰੂਪ ਬਰਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਤੇ ਖਣਿਜ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਨਿੱਕੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ-ਹੈਸਟਿੰਗਜ਼ ਹਲਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੀ ਈਬੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਜਨਰਲ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਹਾਊਸਿੰਗ ਤੇ ਮਿਊਂਸਪਲ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਵੀ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ ਨਾਰਥ ਡੈਲਟਾ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 2017 ’ਚ ਉਹ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਤੇ 2020 ’ਚ ਬਣੀ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਐੱਨਡੀਪੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਚ ਵੀ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾਅ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਜੰਗਲਾਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਵੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਰਮਾਰ ਲੈਂਗਫੋਰਡ-ਜੁਆਨ ਡੀ ਫੂਕਾ ਹਲਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਬਣੇ ਹਨ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਹਲਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਮਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ। ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਤੇ ਖਣਿਜ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਗਰੂਪ ਬਰਾੜ ਨੇ ਸਰੀ-ਫਲੀਟਵੁੱਡ ਹਲਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 2004 ’ਚ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਬਣੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਉਹ ਛੇਵੀਂ ਵਾਰ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਮੰਤਰੀਆ ਸਮੇਤ ਨਵੀਂ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ’ਚ 23 ਮੰਤਰੀ ਤੇ 4 ਮਨਿਸਟਰ ਆਫ ਸਟੇਟ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ’ਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ 14 ਪਾਰਲੀਮਾਨੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪਾਰਲੀਮਾਨੀ ਸਕੱਤਰਾਂ ’ਚ ਨਸਲਵਾਦ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਰਲੀਮਾਨੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਜੈਸੀ ਸੁੰਨੜ, ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਲਈ ਪਾਰਲੀਮਾਨੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਹਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸੰਧੂ, ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਡੈਂਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਲਈ ਪਾਰਲੀਮਾਨੀ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸੁਨੀਤਾ ਧੀਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
