BJP releases first list of seven candidates for UP by-elections
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list for the by-elections to be held on 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP has announced the names of a total of seven candidates in its first list. The seats on which the names of the candidates have been announced include Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Karhal, Phulpur, Katehari and Majhawan seats.
BJP has fielded Ramveer Singh Thakur from Kundarki seat, Sanjeev Sharma from Ghaziabad, Surendra Diler from Khair, Anuj Yadav from Karhal, Deepak Patel from Phulpur, Dharmaraj Nishad from Katehari and Suchismita Maurya from Majhawan. BJP has given a shock to Dr. Sanjay Nishad by fielding candidates from Katehari and Majhawan. The two seats on which the names of candidates are yet to be decided are Meerapur and Sisamau. According to sources, BJP will give the seat of Meerapur to RLD while it is yet to decide the name of its candidate for Sisamau.
There is a direct contest between NDA and India alliance
This time in the by-elections of Uttar Pradesh, there is a direct contest between NDA and All India Alliance. For both the alliances, these elections are a means to strengthen themselves further. This is the reason why both the alliances had to hold several rounds of meetings before deciding the names of the candidates. BJP has announced its candidates on seven out of nine seats in its first list on Thursday. It is being said that BJP will give one seat to its ally RLD. However, its announcement is yet to be made.
