ਬਟਾਲਾ, 18 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2025 – ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹਲਕੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮਾਮਲਾ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਹਾਈ ਵੋਲਟੇਜ ਡਰਾਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 7 ਵਜੇ, ਪਿੰਡ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ 81 ਸਾਲਾ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਟੈਂਕੀ ‘ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ। ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੰਚਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟਾ ਲਾਊਡ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਾਗਜ਼ਾਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਜਾਂ ਡੀਸੀ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਬ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਰਵੇਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ। ਭਰੋਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਗਭਗ ਦੋ ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਟੈਂਕ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਇਆ।

ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਬ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਰਵੇਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
