ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਫ਼ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਤਲੁਜ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਖੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਂਗ ਡੈਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਧੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਛੱਡੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਤੀਜਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਤੱਕ ਸੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਬੀਤੀ ਰਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ ਇੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਫੁੱਟ ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਅਲਰਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਔਰਤਾਂ, ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਜਾਣ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਲਿਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਸੈਨੀਵਾਲਾ ਹੈੱਡ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਭਗ 2,10,000 ਕਿਊਸਿਕ ਪਾਣੀ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ 12 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ‘ਕਾਵਾਂਵਾਲੀ ਪੁਲ’ ਅਜੇ ਬੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਪੁਲ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
